Crash Tragic were formed in 2007 in Wollongong from the remnants of several local groups, (Stiffler, Larynex & Creeper). Those three bands all offered something different musically to the listener. When those three different styles and music genres came together to form Crash Tragic, the result was an original blend of rock that instantly stood out, thanks largely to the group’s ability to sculpt songs with a range of various influences whilst still being mindful of creating something original. The band draws inspiration from a wide range of artists and cites Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, The Cure, Bodyjar & Nirvana as inspiration.
Crash Tragic released their first CD/EP in 2007 through Music Farmers. The five track self-titled EP was a strong starting point for the band, with the track ‘Lets Go’ receiving commercial airplay on the south coast’s most popular station i98fm in 2008. In addition, ‘Lets Go’ was heard screaming through the headphones of snowboarders and skiers alike as the song featured on ‘Perisher Blue First Tracks Vol. 2’ CD Compilation, thanks to the track being selected in the top 5 of the national Launch Your Band Competition 2008 out of more than 430 entries. Crash Tragic also created a music clip in support of the track ‘Keep Me Guessing’ which featured on RAGE
